Frequently Asked Questions

'Eligere' is a Latin word which translates to: 'to choose' or 'to select'. This was chosen because this is what librarians do in libraries but also because organisations choose to use this software in said libraries. It is also short, easy to type into your searchbar and easy to remember.

Yes. EligereAI is context-smart and so will natively understand your database. Please contact us and we would love to help get you set-up.

Eligere software applications are supported on: Windows 10/11, MacOS, iOS and Android. Please note these applications are not avaliable on the App Store / Google Play Store, please contact us to get started.

EligereAI and EligereManage can both be trialed with your organisation. To get started, please email us at: contact@eligere.app and we will walk you through the steps.

Eligere began as a humble software project for a Computer Science A-level Non-Examined Assessment (NEA). The first version of the NEA used admittedly dodgy Python code, but since then it has been rebuilt entirely with security and accessibility at the fore-front into the .NET MAUI framework (C#). This codebase became EligereManage. EligereAI was started out of frustration with traditional search systems for databasing. The developer behind Eligere is Hayden Williams (www.haydenwilliams.dev).

Please reach out to: contact@eligere.app and we will be happy to correspond further. Eligere understands smaller organisations with choral libraries may have significantly lower budgets - we will endeavour to make our pricing work for you.

Eligere is currently being rolled-out across the Choral Library of Kingston Parish Church Choir (KPCChoir), All Saints' Church, Kingston-upon-Thames, Surrey, United Kingdom. It is used by the Choral Librarian staff and Choirmaster to power the Choral Music Library's physical inventory system.

Eligere Database infrastructure uses a private cloud instance of PostgreSQL per organisation (https://www.postgresql.org/). With regards to specific locations, this is dependent on where the AWS (Amazon Web Services) data centre is hosted; we guide you through this process when you configure your new organisation with Eligere. For European Union / United Kingdom users, we can select a data centre that is in the European Union / United Kingdom to ensure data sovereignty (which may be required under GDPR legislation).
